PAGASA WEEKLY OUTLOOK for #Habagat

Today, Typhoon "ODETTE" was located based on all available data at 220 km east of Basco, Batanes (19.9°N, 124.2°E) with maximum sustained winds of 205 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 240 kph. It is forecast to move west northwest at 19 kph. Cagayan including Calayan, Batanes and Babuyan group of islands, Apayao and Ilocos Norte will experience stormy weather with rough to very rough seas. Northern Aurora, Ilocos Sur, La Union and the rest of Cagayan Valley and Cordillera will have rains with gusty winds with moderate to rough seas. Western Visayas and the provinces of Occidental Mindoro and Palawan will experience cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides. Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and of Visayas will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms. Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

By Saturday evening (September 21), Typhoon "ODETTE" is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). However extreme Northern Luzon is still affected by the Typhoon and will continue experience strong winds with scattered moderate to occasionally heavy rainshowers and thunderstorms. The Southwest Monsoon enhanced by Typhoon "ODETTE" will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Western Visayas and MIMAROPA while CALABARZON, Bicol Region and the rest of Visayas will have light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

By Sunday (September 22), the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Western Visayas, MIMAROPA and Metro Manila while CALABARZON, Bicol region and the rest of Visayas will have light to moderate rains and thunderstorms. The rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. This weather condition will continue up to the duration of the outlook period (September 26).

Mindanao will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms throughout the duration of the outlook period (September 20-26).

This outlook will be updated as soon as significant changes in the weather pattern occurs.
