COMET to Hit Philippines this February
“A beautifully rendered experience that excels on nearly every level” Awards Circuit
Following the success of the Adam Levine-Kiera Knightley starrer Begin Again, Solar Pictures brings to local cinemas “COMET”-- a cosmic love story that is sure to leave audiences with that warm February feeling.
“Comet,” stars Golden Globe nominee Emmy Rossum (“The Day After Tomorrow,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Mystic River”) and Justin Long (“Live Free or Die Hard,” “He’s Just Not That Into You”).
“Comet” is an original modern love story that follows Kimberly (Rossum) and Dell (Long), who first meet at the Hollywood cemetery where they’ve both come to watch a meteor shower.
Kimberly is brilliant and beautiful; Dell is nerdy and pessimistic, but with an incredibly sharp mind and direct manner. While she and he are not a natural pair, they are cosmically drawn to each other and, under a night sky, luminous with falling stars, they begin their epic love story.
As the opening title card states the events “take place over six years (a few parallel universes over).”
But what starts as a typical romance quickly turns dreamlike as viewers leap back and forth in time, examining their eventual six-year relationship through the lens of their meeting and four other pivotal moments: a monumental fight at a friend’s wedding in Paris; a break up conversation after Dell has moved to New York; a reconnection on a train ride along the California coast; and finally, when Dell pops in on Kimberly unexpectedly in her home in the Hollywood Hills.
The leaps between these moments are seamlessly woven together to create a sense that this love story transcends time and space and that Kimberly and Dell are destined to be together, if not in this universe, then maybe the next.
Content Media introduced and screened the film to international distributors for the first time at the 2014 American Film Market (AFM) last November and was then picked up by Solar Pictures, among other films.
“The universal theme and inventive storytelling in ‘Comet’ have us believing that audiences will really connect with the film,” said Content Media President of Film Jamie Carmichael. “We were drawn in immediately and are happy to have this film…”
COMET opens in cinemas nationwide on February 25, 2014 and is released by Solar Pictures.

Cavinti Eco-Adventure Tour 2015
Welcome to Cavinti, Laguna not Cavite its Cavinti, a 3rd class municipality. The Eventful, Adventure, Falls, Caves and Eco-Tourism Capital of Laguna. The next big thing for eco-adventure tourism just three hours away from the Metro Manila.
"Para sa patuloy na pag-asenso, Cavinti ay mahalin at ipagmalaki natin! " - Cavinti . For continued progress , Cavinti we cherish and be proud of !!! with this motto Cavinti would be truly became a 1st class city in the near future. A 3rd class municipality waiting to be discover and explore from adventure and relaxation.
What are the things Cavinti can offer, first the Bumbugan Eco Park. Our first stop during our Cavinti Eco Adventure Tour. Best place for picnic and relaxation Bumbungan Eco Park also served us our breakfast and orientation venue.
After the breakfast and orientation we learned that Pagsanjan Falls was located in the vicinity of Cavinti in which locals calls it Cavinti Falls or Magdapio Falls. Shocking to learn the truth that Pagsanjan aka Cavinti falls is truly located in Cavinti because as we been taught in school that Pagsanjan fall is in Pagsanjan History 101.
Then our adventure continue, second stop the Sambalilo Cooperative of Cavinti where world class Sambalilo was made. Cavinti also have the Sambalilo Festival every August 3-6 where they showcase different and colorful sambalilo made in Pandan. This pandan are not the pandan leaves we all know it's a different kind but also a family of Pandan leaves.
Next stop Pueblo El Salvador, established 2006 Pueblo El Salvador was the cheapest way going to Cavinti Falls aka Pagsanjan Falls aka Magdapio Falls but not the easy as like with shooting rapids from Pagsanjan.
About 30 to 60 minutes walk or trekking from the registration area you can reach this great Statue of El Salvador Del Mundo. In this place only the brave and determined can passed and go ahead with the adventure.
Just not your normal walk the trail is a bit challenging and exciting. A great way to feel and appreciate the beauty of Cavinti.
The trail is composed of metal and steel railing from ease access.
First 90 degree drop, Pueblo El Salvador staff would help and secure you during the decent with a rope. Just don't be afraid enjoy the view. Its about a 10 to 15 seconds drop.
Chill along the trail and share the moments with friends.
Keep walking and stay safe |
Keep walking and we reach the end of the trail , where Cavinti Falls awaits you in the end.
Not only in Textbook and Postcard Cavinti Falls Aka Pagsanjan Falls |
Everyone can experience the falls up close and personal via a balsa or bamboo raft. Be ready to get wet and enjoy the ride.
Inside Cavinti Falls |
You can stay inside the falls where you can hear the roaring sounds of the falls but be reminded that it's very cold inside. Cavinti falls is open to the public but it's not open for overnight stay. Cavinti Falls closed at 5 pm where everyone can only visit the falls up to 5 pm. While tourist that came from Pueblo El Salvador way are advice to return after 3 pm.
Alternative way going in and going out Cavinti falls via Shooting Rapids.
After 30 to 40 minutes walk , climb and rappel we are all back at Pueblo El Salvador Starting point.
Last stop for the day Camarin Guesthouse Resort & Eco Park, The NPC CAMARIN Resort & Eco Park is located along the shore of Caliraya Lake, Seven (7) kilometers from the town of Lumban, Laguna. A land mass intrusion to the lake in octopus shape with gradual slope. The total land area is about seven (7) hectares, it nestled the Pavilion, Executive Cottage, Twin-Cabanas, Conference & Seminars Halls and various indoor and outdoor recreational facilities.

SPECIAL WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR METRO MANILA
(FEAST OF THE BLACK NAZARENE)
(January 08-10, 2015)
January 07, 2015
Weather condition over Metro Manila will be generally sunny on most parts of the day with chances of passing light rains by Friday morning, as the "Amihan" or Northeast Monsoon is expected to affect most parts of the country tomorrow until Saturday. Moreover, colder early morning temperature will be felt during the period while moderate to occasionally strong northeasterly winds will prevail.
No tropical cyclone is expected however, this outlook will be updated as soon as significant changes in the weather pattern occur.

Sykes Year End Celebration goes POPTASTIC
Ever since SYKES pioneered the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry in the Philippines, it has become one of the most popular choices of career-seekers. And with the industry growing to unprecedented heights, SYKES has definitely started a popular career movement in this country.
And this is what SYKES POPTASTIC 2014 highlights, the company’s annual Year-End Celebration (YEC) held last December 14 at the SMX Convention Center. POPTASTIC boasted of last song syndrome-inducing music, big prizes, vibrant performances and SYKES employees sporting pop-inspired attire.
It was hosted by the funny and playful Boys Night Out trio of Sam YG, Toni Tony and Slick Rick together with TV show host Karen Pamintuan.
Boys Night Out has been one of the hottest radio shows for the past eight years, and the group has been nominated as Yahoo Philippines’ best radio program for three years in a row. Pamintuan headlines Listed, now on its third season and continues to be Lifestyle Network’s flagship and lifestyle authority program.
SYKES Vice President for Philippine Operations Dean Van Ormer says they really leave no stone unturned when it comes to mounting their YEC. “The YEC is already a part of the SYKES calendar – something that our employees look forward to every year. And we make sure it is worth their wait.”
Opening the show are SYKES employees letting it loose to the melody of the year’s biggest pop hits. The highly anticipated and competitive dance competition also featured employees from SYKES’ different business units grooving to different Korean Pop tunes and costumes, adding color and quirk to the festivities.
SYKES Senior Management Leaders Van Ormer, Senior Operations Director Marc Guison and Operations Director Kenneth Juarez also surprised everyone with a performance of Robin Thicke’s Blurred Lines, showcasing Western Pop’s signature swag and savvy style.
And the POPTASTIC highlight is none other than Ely Buendia, widely regarded as one of the most respected Pinoy music icons and biggest pop rock act in the country. He thrilled everyone with his rendition of timeless hits such as Ang Huling El Bimbo, Alapaap and Magasin and currently performs as guitarist and lead vocalist for Pupil and The Oktaves.
Included in the program are the recognition of the 10-year and 15-year service awardees, and the employee club of the year. More than P1.5 Million worth of prizes was also given away to ecstatic raffle draw winners.
Around 6,000 employees were in attendance, and held simultaneously with SYKES Cebu’s own Year-End Celebration held at the J. Convention Center.
SYKES Director for Branding and Communications Cecile Moreno-Venancio says the YEC is an opportunity for the company to showcase the culture of support it is very much proud of. “In a company as big as ours, we make the most out of every chance we get to interact with our people who make the company’s daily operations productive and smooth.” She adds, “We only get to do this once a year, so we make sure that they all feel valued.”
Van Ormer underscores POPTASTIC celebrates the massive growth of the seeds SYKES planted way back in 1997. “There were no call centers then, but SYKES was already here breaking new ground. The BPO industry is now very, very big – POP in all ways imaginable. It is already something that is enjoyed and appreciated by a very big number of people, and SYKES is very proud to have started it all.”
