At the crack of dawn last November 26,
hundreds of running enthusiasts excitedly gathered at Thunderbird Resorts-Rizal
to take part in the luxury destination’s second fun run for a cause. Entitled “One for TREES”, the run was the
culminating activity of the second anniversary of the company’s corporate
social responsibility program called TREES, or Thunderbird Resorts Efforts on
Environment Sustainability.
The primary beneficiary of One for
TREES is the Serany Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization that aims to
uplift the plight of the poor people of Binangonan, Rizal. Prior to the fun run, a series of
community-related initiatives were conducted in the neighboring areas of
Thunderbird Resorts in Rizal and La Union such as adopt-a-school and feeding
programs, tree-planting activities and medical missions to commemorate TREES’
anniversary.
Participants of One for TREES were treated to refreshing views and
scenic landscapes along the route as the race was situated within the foothills
of the Sierra Madre mountain range.
While the uphill and downhill roads proved to be a little more difficult
than the usual city races, the runners gladly welcomed the challenge to complete
the 5K, 10K and 21K distances. Binangonan
Mayor Cecilio “Boyet” Ynares together with municipal employees gamely joined
the 5k category. Employee volunteers
from Thunderbird Resorts acted as marshalls and cheered on the racers along the
way.
Richard Salano and Janette Lumidao were the first to cross the
finish line among the 5k racers. In the
10k race, the gold medals went to Gerald Sabal and Cindy Lorenzo. First placers of the 21k category were Elmer
Sabal and Luisa Raterta.
One For TREES was made possible with the help of sponsors such as
Business Mirror, Philips, Nova Cereal Bars, Solara baked multi grain sticks,
Salonpas, NY Theraspine Clinic, 24K Xacto Graphics, Dependable Printing,
Spyder, Eastridge and Zest Air; its official hydration partners, Pocari Sweat

If you love to run and Love Mother Earth One for T.R.E.E.S is for you. Thunderbird Resort Rizal was one of the hidden paradise near the Metro a must see venue after the run. A place for good ambiance, great scenery and fresh air plus the great pool area and large variety of food choices.
One for T.R.E.E.S. is the second run for a cause to be held at Thunderbird Resorts-Rizal, but the difference this year is that a 21k category was added. This race is a breath of fresh air for the runners – literally and figuratively – since the setting for the run is at the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range.
The run will be the culminating activity of a month-long program celebrating the second anniversary of T.R.E.E.S. (Thunderbird Resorts Efforts on Environment Sustainability), Thunderbird Resorts’ corporate social responsibility program. Proceeds from the run will benefit the Serany Foundation and the various projects of the Rizal Provincial Government.
One For TREES provides a departure from the regular race settings within Metro Manila – with the route’s scenic landscapes and refreshing views, it is not the typical run venue that most runners participate in.

The Winner of the most Extraordinary Video Contest was base on creativity and votes online. The Grand Winner will bring home a total of 100K cash plus GC from Thunderbird Resort and other sponsor. An iPad is also given to the video that have shoot on any Thunderbird Resort Property like Poro Point or Rizal as a special prize. I know that everyone is hungry special me. That was the best part of the event the Extraordinary Fine Dining Experiences .
Start the Nomnom first stop the soup, the soup was hot and bit creamy. Then salad and pasta plate for the salad fresh lettuce and tomatoes with cucumber and singkamas Sarap with thousand island dressing. I think the vegetable came their farm beside the Resort. The Pasta was well cooked not to soft just the way I like it with lots of toppings ham and cheese. For the main dish Chicken, fish fillet and chopsuey on the side with white rice. Lastly the dessert fresh fruit and my favorite leche plan.
Dessert is the best part of the fine dining experience because you can ate nice and slow and savor the flavor the aroma of the sweet taste and soft texture of the Leche Plan feels like It was made by me. Sarap Grabe. I want to learn how to cook that leche plan. The food was great and I want more Ice tea but the waiter say's one ice tea per person. Water na lng. Okey!!!
First I feel like I'm a blogger by choice or by destiny hehehe honestly I love contest and I'm a contest junkies. End up Blogging and now I'm loving it.
