Sagip Buhay Don Henrico’s Marathon

This would be my Final run for 2011 and for the 3rd time running for 10k. Don Henrico’s, one of the most popular casual Italian restaurants in the Philippines today, is going outside of its accustomed venture for the sake of a newfound purpose – that is, helping save lives by running a marathon for the benefit of a charity organization.

 Named the Don Henrico’s Run: Help Save a Life Today, this urban marathon event aims to aid Sagip Buhay, a medical foundation that provides medications to our less fortunate brothers and sisters admitted at the Medicine Wards and ICUs of the Philippine General Hospital in Manila.

 The event will take place at the CCP Complex, Pasay City on December 17, 2011 and will feature 3K, 5K, and 10K races .

The 5k and 10k Route looks interesting for me because the run was set on afternoon and we all known that the best Sunset was along this route beside Manila Bay.

“One of the brand’s mission statements is to share and help improve the quality of life in the community that we serve,” says Anthony Mercado, Business Development and Corporate Marketing Manager of Don Henrico’s Pizza Foods Corporation. “And what a better way to celebrate the Christmas season than to do something you love at the income of those in need.”

“It is also an ideal time to go out and be active because December is actually one of the most weather-friendly months in a year,” Mercado adds.

The run will take place at Liwasang Ulalim, in CCP Complex, Pasay City assembly time at exactly 3:30pm –Gunstart for 10K is at 4:00pm 5k and 3k, 10mins thereafter. All participants are expected to catch a glimpse of the scenic view of the sunset bay and enjoy the delicious pizza at the finish line.
